Following attendance at the Ulster and Downe Hospital Emergency Department or at Bangor or Ards Minor Injury Unit for a potential fracture; all x-rays and notes are reviewed at a “Virtual Fracture Clinic” by a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who will make a clinical decision for the treatment plan. You do not need to be present for this assessment.
An experience Fracture Nurse will then contact you to offer either and appointment or to discharge you with advice. If a face to face appointment is required it will be with a surgeon who specialises in your type of fracture within a timeframe appropriate to your case.
