The South Eastern Trust Transport Department has just received notification after an independent audit, that they have retained the prestigious Logistics UK “Van Excellence” award for the 5th year in a row. The accreditation confirms that the Trust Transport Department have continued to demonstrate enhanced standards of van operator compliance. The accreditation celebrates operators who demonstrate “excellence”. The South Eastern Trust operates a fleet of 198 vehicles of which approximately 1/3 are vans and light commercial. A vigorous audit was carried out in November, which looked at all aspects of the Trust fleet of vans. Areas such as vehicle maintenance, driver training, road risk and vehicle tracking were looked at. The audit was then independently verified by a panel of 4 industry leading experts in England before the accreditation was confirmed.
South Eastern Trust Service Lead for Transport Richard Walker said: “I am delighted that despite the extreme challenges our teams have faced this year during both surges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have managed to retain our accreditation and again be recognised formally for our continued hard work in ensuring our fleet of vans are operating in accordance with industry best practice. The Logistics UK van excellence accreditation gives us an external reassurance that we are getting things right and in turn can reassure our stakeholders of our ongoing commitment to strive for excellence. I am very proud of our team and that we remain the only public sector organisation in Northern Ireland to have achieved this Industry recognised accreditation”.
Richard added that he and the Transport Team would like to dedicate this year’s accreditation to their colleague and friend Peter Vayro who they lost recently to COVID-19.
