On Sunday December 13, 110 members of the Trust Covid vaccination team received their vaccinations at an information and training session in the Covid Vaccination Centre, at the Ulster Hospital’s new Acute Services Block, which we are using as the main centre for the Trust vaccination programme.
In line with nationally agreed priorities, care home staff and residents, who have been significantly impacted by the pandemic, are the first priority group. We are pleased to announce that also on Sunday, in a dual operation, our mobile vaccination teams visited care homes and delivered a further 156 vaccinations to residents and staff. This operation is now ongoing on a daily basis.
Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to get our vaccination programme up and running. A special thank you to the many staff who have volunteered as vaccinators and support staff, please continue to do your training and we will be contacting you shortly.
We look forward to moving to the next stage in the programme and we are hopeful that staff vaccinations will begin very soon for those within priority groups.
