The South Eastern HSC Trust has a full time Parkinson’s Disease Nurse covering the whole geography of the Trust to provide:
- Information on Parkinson’s Disease and its progression
- Support for the person living with Parkinson’s Disease, the carer and the family
- Neurological and psychological support in managing the symptoms
- Advice on medication management
- Information on community care support services
- Liaison with consultants & GPs plus referral to other members of the health and social care team

Referral
The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist non urgent helpline service is available Monday – Friday between 08.30am – 4.30pm. Patients are encouraged to contact the telephone service if they are a resident within the South Eastern Health and Social Care catchment area with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease and are:
- Experiencing side effects from their Parkinson’s Medication
- Experiencing an acute deterioration in Parkinson’s Symptoms
- Concerns that cannot wait for their next clinic appointment
