The South Eastern Trust was delighted to formally open its state-of-the-art Community Dental Clinic in James Street, Newtownards. The existing premises has been totally transformed and it now offers a modern, self-contained three surgery unit, with inbuilt digital imaging services. It also boasts improved access for bariatric patients and patients with limited mobility.
The dental service, which is referral only, delivers crucial care to vulnerable groups and some of the service users were among the invited guests who had an opportunity to see the refurbished centre in James Street for themselves.
Opening the clinic, the Director of Primary Care and Older People, Clare-Marie Dickson, said she was “Really delighted that the clinic has received the required investment” adding that, “Patient safety and the quality of services the Trust can deliver in the Community are at the heart of the development.”
The Chief Dental Officer Caroline Lappin who also attended the opening ceremony, congratulated the entire team behind the project. “I am so proud to see how services in Newtownards have been transformed. This really is a good opportunity to celebrate.”
