Accommodation Frequently Asked Questions
How long can I stay in Trust Accommodation?
This would depend on the accommodation request type but it is normally 3 months. Exceptions are:
- Overseas nurses – 8 weeks
- Students in Home 1 – up to 1 year
- In all other instances a maximum of 3 months is allowed subject to approval and capacity.
Can I work for another Trust and stay in your accommodation?
No. The accommodation is solely for medical staff / students who are working or aligned to the SET. We have accommodation on our 3 main hospital sites – Ulster, Lagan Valley and Downpatrick. We aim to provide accommodation, based on capacity, at the nearest site requested.
How do I access my accommodation?
Home 1 – You are given a key for your room on arrival. There are shared bathroom and kitchen facilities, as well as a small sitting room on each floor. The front door should be kept closed between 5pm and 8am on weekdays and during the weekend.
Marshall House – Access set on your swipe card allows you to enter the front. The key to your room allows you access via the back door. It is your responsibility to request changes to your swipe card.
Kelly Court – Each unit has its own key.
Can I park my car if I am successful in getting accommodation?
You would need to contact access.control@setrust.hscni.net re requesting a car parking permit as the accommodation office has no responsibility to provide parking.
How do I pay my rent?
On a monthly basis rent invoices are processed through to our finance team. You will then receive an email with a link. The link will take you through to pay your rent safely and securely.
How do I get Top Ups for Gas and Electricity?
Gas cards are located in the gas box of your accommodation. This can be taken to your local Spar / Asda and you purchase a top up amount there. It is important that your gas level doesn’t go below 19par. Electricity cards can be obtained from the Accommodation Office (Home 1) or Cash Office (1st Floor Old Main Entrance) Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm excluding Bank Holidays. At other times they may be obtained from the Security Office, located on the 1st floor of the High Park. Card payment only is accepted.
Where is my nearest rubbish / recycling bay?
All rubbish / recycling can be taken to the Bin Bay located between Home 2 and Home 3. For Marshall House and Kelly Court Residents, there is a bin-block at the side of Marshall House. It is the responsibility of each resident to safely dispose of any rubbish accrued.
How do I collect my Parcels & Post?
All parcels and post for Home 1, Marshall House and Kelly Court are normally brought to Home 1. So please use our full address with Home 1 specified. Post is put in our mail tray in the central ground floor corridor. Parcels will be signed for and stored safely until collection.
How do I raise any issues I have?
During office hours 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday – Friday, (excluding Bank Holidays) you can contact the accommodation office directly, or via email, on accommodation.office@setrust.hscni.net
