The Children’s Out Patient Department (OPD) cares for children and young people. We provide a wide range of outpatient services.
You will find us on the 1st floor at the front of the main hospital building.

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30
Referrals are made from:
- Local GPs
- Emergency Department
- Internal hospital staff
You cannot self-refer to this department.

The clinics are led by medical and nursing staff.

- Neonatal (Baby Clinic)
- Epilepsy
- Complex Needs
- Cardiology
- Dietetic ( led by dietitians)
- Venepuncture (Blood clinic)
- Synagis ( For protection against bronchiolitis virus)
- BCG
There is also an Asthma & Allergy Service and a Diabetes Service that hold clinics in Paediatric Outpatients.
The multidisciplinary team consists of :

Parent Information
On arrival you will be met by a member of staff.
Your details will be checked and your child/young person will have their height and weight recorded.
You will then be asked to take a seat in the waiting area.
You will then be called from the waiting area in order of your appointment time.
There are multiple clinics occurring at the same time.
For children/young people with complex allergies there is a separate waiting area available, please ask at reception to access this room.
