Personal Advisor Service

This service is for young people who are 16 years and above and who have been looked after for at least 13 weeks from the age of 14yrs and continue to be a looked after child after their 16th birthday.

The Personal Advisor’s (PA) main functions include: 

  • Supporting young people living in a care placement ensuring that they are receiving advice and guidance that enables them to be prepared for the transition to adulthood
  • Assisting in the completion of a ‘Pathway Plan’ which considers areas such as: accommodation, education and training, health, family and social relationships and rights
  • Networking with other agencies to ensure the young person is getting services they are entitled to
  • Ensuring the young person remains at the centre of any work the team carries out

  • Referral

    Allocation of a personal advisor will be made upon transfer to the Leaving Care and After Care Team.
