Rachel Gibbs

Rachel is responsible for the delivery of Mental Health services, Learning Disability services and Psychological Services in the South Eastern H&SC Trust area. She is also responsible for the delivery of Healthcare services for all people in prisons across Northern Ireland.

Rachel is an Occupational Therapist with more than 25 years’ experience. Over the course of her career, Rachel has successfully delivered and developed services for people of all ages who live with disability and/or marginalisation.  Rachel is passionate about improving the wellbeing outcomes of people who use and deliver our services.  Before becoming Director, Rachel worked for six years as the Assistant Director for Healthcare in Prison and then for a short time as Assistant Director for Disability Services. Prior to this, Rachel was Professional Lead of Occupational Therapy Services in the Trust.  In addition, Rachel has extensive international experience working in France, New Zealand and Tanzania, where she learned to work in complex and, at times, resource deprived environments. Rachel has strengthened her experience by completing a Churchill Fellowship in 2020 and acquiring a Masters degree in Business Improvement in 2022.
