Feeling extremely tired (fatigue) is a very common side effect of cancer and treatments. You may be struggling with energy and doing the simple things. This can last for several months after treatment has finished. Tiredness can also be linked to pain, depression, sleep problems, an underactive thyroid or having a low number of red blood cells (anaemia). It is important to explore with your GP if there is a particular reason for your tiredness so it can be treated.
However, regular exercise can rebuild energy and reduce tiredness. Also, short walks can also help to boost mood and aid a better night’s sleep.
