Palliative Care staff from Lagan Valley Hospital have helped spread festive cheer by organising a ‘Christmas Cosy Toes’ sock collection, with a wonderful variety of socks distributed to patients in need across wards throughout the hospital.
Staff from across Lagan Valley Hospital generously donated a wide range of socks for patients, helping to ensure that alongside medical care, patients also received a touch of home, warmth and dignity during their stay over the Christmas period.
The thoughtful initiative aimed to provide comfort to patients at a particularly special and sometimes challenging time of year, highlighting the compassion and kindness shown by staff across the hospital.
Palliative Clinical Nurse Specialist, Lorraine Collins, thanked everyone who contributed to the Christmas Cosy Toes collection and said, “In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it is easy to overlook the small comforts. However, seeing staff come together to provide these ‘cosy toes’ reminds us all of the powerful spirit of community within the hospital.
“Not only do the socks provide physical comfort to those feeling the chill, they also show patients that they are thought of as individuals. It was a lovely opportunity to spread a little bit of festive magic this Christmas time.”
