Don’t Delay – Get Your Jab Today!

14th January 2022

The clock is ticking!  The doors of Northern Ireland’s largest pop up mass vaccination centre at the Titanic Exhibition Centre will close on Sunday 16  January 2022 at 8.00pm.  The TEC, which the South Eastern HSC Trust managed to set up in just five days and which was opened on the 21 December 2021 by the Health Minister, has delivered an incredible over 10,000 first, second and booster vaccine doses assisted by retired medical and nursing staff along with medical students.  The mass vaccination centre at the TEC was a short-term measure with a short-term lease to increase overall capacity and it has done its job.

We are encouraging those who have yet to receive their first, second and booster doses to come on down to the centre this weekend.  The centre will be open from 8am – 8pm on Saturday and from 8am to 8pm on Sunday.  From Monday 17 January 2022, the centre will transfer back to the Acute Services Block on the Ulster Hospital site.   Clinics will also be available at Lisburn Primary Care & Community Centre and the Great Hall, Downshire Hospital.

Clinical Lead of the Vaccination Centre, Tanya Daly says, “I would like to thank everyone who has come forward to receive their vaccination over the last four weeks in the Titanic Exhibition Centre.  It was a huge task to set up the TEC in just five days, and it has proved extremely popular for the general public.”

Tanya Daly added, “We have given first, second and booster doses over the last number of weeks and it is really heartening to see that people are still coming forward for the COVID-19 vaccine.  We know that we are not out of the woods yet and the new variant Omicron is putting pressure on our health service.  It is important to know that you can still get your vaccine at any of the Trust vaccination centres, community pharmacies, GP surgeries or at any local pop up clinics.  I would like to thank all our staff who have worked tirelessly to protect the community. They have undoubtedly saved lives.”
