South Eastern Trust Foster Carers and staff came together for a ‘spooktacular’ afternoon of Halloween fun, courtesy of Newcastle’s Burrendale Hotel as families took part in a ‘wickedly’ wonderful afternoon.

Families enjoyed an autumnal lunch and fancy dress as the children were treated to face painting and pumpkin carving.

Foster Carer, Bridie Bertenshaw shared how much all those in attendance enjoyed the event. “It was a fantastic event and the Trust staff were outstanding in the way they looked after the children and Carers. It was really great to have something like this to take in and enjoy as it is lovely for the children and Foster Carers to feel appreciated and valued,” said Bridie.

South Eastern Trust Head of Service for Fostering, Nuala Hanna said, “We would like to thank the Burrendale Hotel for hosting our annual fostering Halloween event to acknowledge our fabulous Foster Carers, for all that they do and the huge commitment shown to our children.”

“The hotel facilitated a wonderful event and even relocated their pumpkin patch indoors due to the adverse weather to make sure the children had the full Halloween experience,” said Nuala.

“We were delighted so many families attended and the range and standard of fancy dress was a delight to see. We are already looking forward to next year!”
