Members of the Greenisland Knitting, Sewing and Craft Group, based in Greenisland Presbyterian Church, have kindly donated beautifully handmade syringe driver bags to support patients with palliative care needs in Lagan Valley and the Downe Hospitals.
Syringe driver bags offer comfort, dignity and a touch of personalisation to patients receiving palliative care. The bags help to transform an essential medical device into a discreet and often cheerful accessory, providing reassurance and making a difficult time that little bit easier.
Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care, Lorraine Collins, expressed her gratitude to the group and said, “These are not just practical bags for carrying syringe pumps, they are small gifts of kindness. They give patients more freedom of movement and help reduce the clinical feel of their treatment.
“It is a testament to these ladies for their compassion and kindness as they volunteer their time and talent to make these bags. I would like to thank them for this wonderful donation to help our patients.”
