Over £1,000 has been donated to the Ulster Hospital’s Forget Me Not Bereaved Focus Group after Lisburn man Ben Bowler ran the Belfast Marathon.

Ben successfully completed 26.2 miles across the city, raising £1192.83 for his efforts as he and his wife Toni explained how they attend the Recurrent Loss Clinic at the Maternity Unit and wanted to give something back in recognition of the amazing care they continue to receive.

Toni shared how the couple experienced their first in a number of painstaking losses in July 2023 and have been attending the clinic ever since.

“We have had and continue to receive such excellent support from Bereavement Midwife, Susan Stitt. The support offered to myself and Ben is so good and the donation to the Forget Me Not group is our way of saying thank you,” said Toni.

Ulster Hospital’s Bereavement Midwives Susan Stitt and Jacqueline Dorrian thanked Ben and Toni for their kind donation towards the group and said, “We are very grateful to receive this generous amount and for all the effort Ben put into running the marathon. The funds will go towards helping bereaved families and we want to say a very heartfelt thank you to them.”
