Staff from the EuroSpar store on the Donaghadee Road, Newtownards have generously donated advent calendars and selection boxes to the siblings of babies currently being cared for in the Neonatal Unit at the Ulster Hospital.
The donation aims to bring a little festive cheer to families who may be facing a difficult Christmas period while their newborns receive specialist care.
South Eastern Trust, Neonatal Sister, Anne Fitzpatrick expressed her thanks to the staff, saying, “We are incredibly thankful for this thoughtful donation. Christmas can be an emotional time for families with a baby in neonatal care and these gifts will help brighten the season for brothers and sisters. Gestures like this remind families that their community is thinking of them.”
Duty Manager of Donaghadee Road EuroSpar, Andy Ward added, “Supporting the local community is very important to us and we are delighted to provide this donation to the Neonatal Unit at the Ulster Hospital to help spread some joy at this time of year for those families unable to spend Christmas together.”
