Albertbridge Masonic Lodge No. 535 has once again shown its support for the Ulster Hospital Children’s Unit by donating £500 worth of vouchers to help purchase toys for young patients.

The vouchers will allow staff to buy a wide range of items, including sensory toys, books and baby toys, to help brighten the days of the children who attend the Unit.

This marks the third consecutive year that Albertbridge Masonic Lodge No. 535 has supported the Children’s Unit with generous donations.

Steward of Charities for the Lodge, Graham Walker, said, “We have been donating to the Children’s Unit at the Ulster Hospital for the past three years. It is a very worthy cause and we are delighted to continue supporting the Unit.”

“Our members collect money throughout the year and this time we are pleased to present £500 in vouchers for staff to purchase toys and gifts for the children.”

South Eastern Trust, Paediatric Lead Nurse, Karen Orr expressed her gratitude on behalf of the Children’s Unit, stating, “This is a fantastic donation and the children will really benefit from it. We plan to use the vouchers to buy sensory toys, bath toys, books and baby toys to support play and distraction during their time in the Unit.”

“We are truly grateful for this generosity, the children, especially over Christmas, will absolutely love it.”
