The South Eastern Trust was delighted to welcome Board members from Ark Housing Association to Ravara Court in Bangor for a special visit to the supported living facility.

The visit provided Ark’s Board and Senior Management Team with the opportunity to tour the building, meet residents and hear first-hand about their experiences of living at Ravara Court.

One resident who made a lasting impression was 100-year-old tenant Betty Dowd, who stole the show by entertaining the visitors with her well-known “Sandwich Song”, complete with dancing and plenty of laughter.

Ravara Court provides specialised accommodation and support services to frail older people and those with mild to moderate Dementia through a partnership between the South Eastern Trust, Ark Housing Association and Supporting People.

Reflecting on the visit, Betty said the Board members were “so down-to-earth” that she felt she had “made new friends, including the Chairperson and the Chief Executive. It was truly wonderful to witness.”

Ravara Court Manager, Ashley Collins welcomed the visitors and said, “The visit was a great success. It was a pleasure to host the Board and showcase our beautiful building and most importantly, introduce them to our wonderful tenants. It truly was a fantastic and uplifting day.”

Ark Housing’s Director of Homes and Communities added, “Our Board and Senior Management Team were keen to visit Ravara Court to hear first-hand from tenants living at the scheme. These vital interactions reaffirm our strong community focus and our commitment to placing tenants at the heart of everything we do.

“We want to extend a huge thank you to the entire dedicated staff team at Ravara Court for their warm welcome, with special thanks to Ashley for hosting us and to the tenants for making the visit so memorable.”
