In an act of sheer kindness, Eva Carson recently visited the Paediatric Unit at the Ulster Hospital to donate more than 60 books for children spending time in hospital over the Christmas period.
Eva used her birthday money to purchase the books, with the aim of gifting the joy of reading to children who may be in hospital during what can be a challenging time of year.
The generous donation will help provide comfort, distraction and enjoyment for young patients throughout the festive season, ensuring they have access to a wide range of stories while receiving care.
South Eastern Trust, Paediatric Ward Manager, Alison Smyth, thanked Eva for her extremely thoughtful gesture and said, “We are incredibly grateful to Eva for such a kind and selfless donation. The books will be very much appreciated by our young patients and their families, particularly over the Christmas period.
“Acts of kindness like this really do make a difference and help bring a little extra comfort and joy to children while they are in hospital.”
