A Century of Joy as Bayview Resource Centre and Grange Park Primary Celebrate Louise’s 100th Birthday

26th June 2025

It was a double celebration for Bayview Resource Centre Service User, Louise Cox, who celebrated her 100th birthday on 23 June 2025.

Louise is the first individual at the centre to reach such a remarkable milestone.  To mark the occasion, Bayview staff hosted a joyful birthday party for Louise in the Butterfly Suite of the centre, complete with decorations, treats and plenty of well wishes.

Adding to the excitement, Louise was also treated to a surprise tea party by Primary One pupils from Grange Park Primary School in Bangor, as part of the school’s long-standing intergenerational partnership with Bayview Resource Centre. The special event was filled with cake, dancing and laughter as the children welcomed Louise and her friends from the centre with open arms and big smiles.

Louise was visibly touched by the gesture and said, “It was such a lovely surprise to celebrate my 100th birthday and to all the Primary One children for arranging the surprise tea party to mark my 100th birthday.”

Bayview Resource Centre, Day Care Worker, Lyne Cleland, shared, “We are so happy to be celebrating Louise’s 100th  birthday. It is such a huge life achievement and a proud moment for everyone here at Bayview.”

Grange Park Teacher, Megan McFarlane, added, “We have been working in collaboration with Bayview for the past seven years. Our children absolutely love visiting and engaging in activities with the Service Users. Celebrating Louise’s birthday was incredibly special for the children,  they were so excited to make her feel loved and special.”
