Downpatrick’s Streamers Men’s Wellbeing Group has raised over £1,000 for Marie Curie by a series of fundraising efforts which included their annual Easter raffle and sponsored walk through the picturesque River Quoile.

Primary Care Senior Social Work Practitioner, Niall Rotherham, who facilitates the group as part of the multi-disciplinary team social work service, said the Streamers are “delighted” to have raised such a fantastic amount for the cancer charity.

Niall said, “The group fundraise annually to give back to their local community. The Streamers decided to fundraise for Marie Curie because of their personal experience with cancer, research work into the disease and the support offered to those living with cancer and their families through the charity.”

The Streamers Men’s Wellbeing Group meets every Monday at the Downshire Hospital from 10am-12noon, all are welcome. For more information contact Niall on (07971) 334 537.
