A free interactive information session for Lisburn based businesses on how to become a ‘Dementia Friend’ facilitated by the Alzheimer’s Society, in partnership with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust and the Dementia Friendly Communities Partnership will be held in Bow Street Mall, Lisburn, on Tuesday September 16.
Local businesses can make a big difference for people with dementia and their carers by making a commitment to become more dementia friendly. Two sessions of training will be available to businesses and their staff.
South Eastern Trust Dementia Friendly Communities Partnership’s Sandra Glover encouraged businesses and their staff to attend the sessions.
“Supporting customers with memory loss starts with understanding. Attending a one hour Dementia Friends session is a simple step with a lasting impact. I would encourage all businesses to get involved and to come along on the day.”
Two sessions will take place in Bow Street Mall, former food court area, on Tuesday September 16 at 10.30-11.30am or noon until 1pm.
Representatives from the Trust’s Carers Support Service, Dementia Navigators, Safe and Well Service, Alzheimer’s Society, Age Friendly Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council and Community Advice Lisburn and Castlereagh will have information stands outside Menary’s store on the Mall from 10am – 3pm
