After an exceptional 40 years of service, South Eastern Trust Medical Secretary, Agnes Gunning has retired.
Agnes began her career in 1979, working across a number of departments including Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and Breast Surgery. After a short period away, she returned to the Trust and joined the Urology Team, where she has been a highly valued member of staff for the past 30 years.
Throughout her career, Agnes has been known for her warmth, professionalism and commitment to supporting both patients and clinical teams. As the first point of contact for many patients accessing Urology Services, she played a key role in ensuring they felt supported and reassured from the very beginning of their journey.
Reflecting on her career, Agnes said, “I have really enjoyed my career and helping patients in Urology as I am the first point of contact. I will miss working with my colleagues and the patients. I have loved every minute of it.”
Consultant Urologist, Mr Sam Gray, paid tribute to Agnes’ long-standing service and added, “Agnes has been an outstanding member of our Team. Her knowledge, compassion and dedication to our patients have made a tremendous difference every single day. She has been the friendly and reassuring voice that so many patients relied upon and her support to the clinical team has been invaluable.”
“We wish her a long, happy and very well-deserved retirement.”
