Almost £1,000 has been raised by the Ulster Hospital’s Gastroenterology Ward staff, patients and their families to help fund research and support for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Tables of home-baked treats filled the ward as South Eastern Trust staff pulled out all the culinary stops to show off their baking skills for such a worthwhile cause.

Pancreatic Cancer UK works across the UK to fund groundbreaking research, campaign for earlier diagnosis and provide specialist support for people living with Pancreatic Cancer.

Staff Nurse Ashley Marshall shared how Pancreatic Cancer UK, “Is an excellent charity who not only supply our ward with leaflets and materials for patients, families and staff, but provide support to patients who access their website too.”

“I have used their website for information and guidance when my Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I really think that giving back through the bake sale has been the best opportunity to show how thankful we all are.”

Ashley continued, “Our sale was made even more memorable as we had a family of a very dear patient who came along to support us which meant the world. We are extremely grateful to have been able to do this and that people were brave enough to buy and try our baking!”
