The Easter Bunny was not the only one making special deliveries this weekend! The Maternity Unit at the Ulster Hospital was a hive of excitement as several beautiful babies made their debut, bringing joy and hope this Easter.
There were double celebrations for Lisburn mum, Natasha Hendren as baby Arlo arrived on Easter Sunday, which also marked her 30th birthday. Natasha said “I had thought he might have arrived just in time for Easter, so I bought him an Easter baby grow, but it was not the birthday I had anticipated! He was the best birthday present and it will definitely be one to remember.”
Among the new arrivals was Baby Enya who made a surprise appearance weighing 7lbs 8oz. Mum Alicia Lewis from Ballynahinch added, “It was definitely a shock, we were not expecting her here, but she could not wait any longer to meet us. We are delighted she is here safe and sound.”
Cathy and Mark Woodside from Belfast were over the moon following the birth of their baby boy, Teidí. A beaming Cathy stated, “We are delighted our baby boy Teidí has arrived over the Easter period. He has been a dream so far and this is just the perfect moment!”
Cathy also praised staff for the care they received in the Maternity Unit, “We are both so overjoyed, we could not be more in love with Teidí. The last few days have all been a bit of a blur. The Team in the Ulster Hospital has been amazing and I have been so well looked after.”
Meanwhile, Ballynahinch mum, Fiona McCarry welcomed her third child, Conan into the world and is looking forward to spending quality time with her full family over the Easter week while her other children are off school.
South Eastern Trust, Interim Lead Midwife, Emma Johnson said, “Easter is always a special time in our Maternity Unit and it has been a joy to welcome so many beautiful babies into the world over the holiday period. It is a privilege for our Team to support families at such an important moment in their lives.
