The Paediatric Unit at the Ulster Hospital received a generous Easter donation from The Poet Bar and Grill in Belfast, bringing smiles to young patients over the holiday period.
The donation included a selection of Easter eggs and art and craft kits, ensuring that all children in the Unit could enjoy the celebrations, including those who may not be able to eat chocolate.
The thoughtful gesture was particularly meaningful for The Poet Bar and Grill staff member, Jay Service, whose daughter was recently a patient in the Unit. Wanting to give something back for the excellent care she received, Jay and his colleagues organised the donation as a token of their appreciation.
Jay explained, “My daughter had such a positive experience during her time in the Unit and she did not want to leave the ward. As a thank you, everyone at The Poet Bar and Grill wanted to do something to show our appreciation. We hope the Easter eggs and art kits help bring a little bit of joy to the children and their families over Easter.”
South Eastern Trust, Healthcare Play Specialist, Sharon Millar, thanked Jay and the Team for their kindness and said, “We are incredibly grateful to Jay and everyone at The Poet Bar and Grill for this very thoughtful donation. Gestures like this make a real difference to our young patients and help create a more positive and comforting environment, particularly during holiday times. The children will really enjoy the treats and activities.”
