The Art Group at Ardarragh Day Centre in Downpatrick has enjoyed outstanding success at the Saintfield Show Home Industries Arts and Crafts competition, taking home multiple awards for their creative work.
Working alongside Art Tutor Tom Cunningham, the group’s artists impressed judges with their entries, winning two prestigious trophies, the Elizabeth Kirk Cup and the Watercolour Cup, as well as a collection of rosettes across several categories.
The achievements reflect the dedication, creativity and hard work of the artists, who continue to develop their skills through the centre’s arts programme.
Ardarragh Senior Day Care Worker, Diane Hanna-McKay, said, “We are absolutely delighted with the success of our Art Group at the Saintfield Show. This achievement is a wonderful recognition of the talent, commitment and enthusiasm shown by our artists.
“Art plays such an important role in supporting confidence, wellbeing and self-expression. Seeing the pride and joy on everyone’s faces as they received their awards was fantastic and they should all be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
“We would also like to thank Tom for his continued encouragement and support, as well as Ellen McKee and the Home Industries team at Saintfield Show for all their hard work in organising such a fantastic event.”
