Patients living with Dementia are set to benefit from new activity trolleys, thanks to a generous donation from the Newtownards Tesco branch.
The specially selected Dementia activity trolleys provide a range of engaging and sensory activities such as jigsaw puzzles, painting, card games and craft to help support patients during their hospital stay. The resources can help stimulate memories, encourage conversation and provide opportunities for patients to remain engaged.
South Eastern Trust, Dementia Service Improvement Lead, Tracy Kane thanked Tesco for its generosity and support.
“The introduction of the activity trolleys reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care for people living with Dementia and other cognitive impairments.
“We are extremely grateful to Tesco Newtownards for their generous donation and support. The trolleys provide staff with practical resources to promote meaningful opportunities for engagement, connection and stimulation. This initiative demonstrates how relatively simple interventions can enhance our patients’ wellbeing and support a more positive hospital experience.”
