South Eastern Trust Foster Carers and staff came together for a ‘spooktacular’ afternoon of Halloween fun, courtesy of Newcastle’s Burrendale Hotel as families took part in a ‘wickedly’ wonderful afternoon.
Families enjoyed an autumnal lunch and fancy dress as the children were treated to face painting and pumpkin carving.
Kinship Foster Carer, Lara Ferguson described the annual event as, “brilliant.” Lara said, “I really appreciate being invited to the Halloween party each year. It is always a great day out for both adults and children with delicious food, plenty of entertainment, fun activities and a fantastic pumpkin patch. The raffle is great bonus too and I was lucky to win an overnight stay. It is a brilliant event and we are grateful to be included every year.”
South Eastern Trust Head of Service for Fostering and Adoption, Nuala Hanna explained how the Halloween event is, “So important in bringing our Fostering community together.”
Nuala stated, “It is a chance to strengthen relationships and create happy memories for our children. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Burrendale Hotel for their warm welcome and for helping us make the event so special. Thank you also to our Foster Carers, children and staff who took part and helped make the day such a success.”
