A range of vital medical equipment has been donated by Ards Hospital Ladies Committee to the Outpatients Department at Ards Hospital, which will greatly enhance patient care and support clinical staff.
Through their dedicated efforts and successful fundraising events hosted throughout the year, the committee presented Outpatients staff with a dermatology light, an Ob’s machine and a selection of trolleys for use in clinical rooms. This equipment will help increase the department’s capacity to diagnose, monitor and treat patients effectively.
Outpatients Sister, Sharon Moore was delighted to accept the donation on behalf of her team and said, “We are so grateful to the Ladies Committee for their very generous donation. The dermatology lamp and Ob’s machine are state of the art and will help us to improve patient care, whilst the trolleys will assist staff in moving equipment and treatment room supplies with ease.
“It has been lovely to meet the ladies and thank them for their kindness. We wish them luck in their future fundraising events.”
Chairperson of the Ards Ladies Committee, Muriel Smyth commented, “It is a pleasure to be able to provide this equipment to the Ards Outpatients Department. The ladies want to help where they can to improve the comfort and health care experience for patients and staff. Many of us have been cared for or had a loved one cared for by the medical staff within the hospital so we are delighted to have an opportunity to give something back.”
