Coronary Care staff in Lagan Valley Hospital have been honoured with a prestigious award which was presented by Nicki Patterson, Director of Nursing, Primary Care & Older People (South Eastern HSC Trust). Siobhan Hussey who worked temporarily in the ward, nominated the team for a Cavell Star award for their outstanding care and dedication and for going above and beyond during an incredibly busy time.
Cavell Star Awards are an inspiring national awards programme and are given to nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare assistants who shine bright and show exceptional care and compassion. They are an exceptional way to celebrate what nursing staff do every day.
Nicki Patterson added “The expert clinical care and compassion for patients and colleagues that this team demonstrated during the first wave of the pandemic clearly had a big impact on their nominator for this award. As we again seek support through the workforce appeal it should serve to re-assure anyone considering coming forward that they will be supported to give their best.”
