Ulster Hospital Clerical Officer, Lindsay Boyle, who is a dedicated member of the Patient Experience Team, is undertaking a remarkable challenge this holiday season. Lindsay, who bravely faced a Breast Cancer diagnosis, is taking part in the “12 Dips of Christmas” challenge to raise funds to support Cancer Research UK.
The “12 Dips of Christmas” is a challenge for fundraisers to take a cold-water dip for 12 days to raise vital funds for the charity.
Having experienced the challenges of a cancer diagnosis first-hand, Lindsay is no stranger to the emotional and physical toll it takes on individuals and their families. Determined to make a positive impact, Lindsay is using her journey to inspire others and contribute to the ongoing fight against cancer.
Lindsay’s motivation for taking on this challenge is her desire to give back to the community and support those who may face similar cancer battles. Her courage and determination serve as an inspiration to both colleagues at the Ulster Hospital and the wider community.
Explaining why it was important for her to undertake this challenge, Lindsay said, “I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in December 2021 and without charities such as Cancer Research, I wouldn’t be here to tell my story. I just want to give something back to show my gratitude!
“I am a quarter of the way through the challenge and the dips never get any easier, especially with the dark, cold mornings!”
