The Community Addictions Team in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust recently held a coffee morning and raised £250 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event was held in Ards Community Hospital and members of the Addictions Team put their baking skills to the test, creating some masterpieces that were almost too good to eat!
Macmillan rely on donations to enable them to develop services for people living with cancer within our local area, funds raised from the coffee morning will go towards the Macmillan Cancer Support fund. The fund provides support to cancer patients, additional staffing, grants and the provision of the Outreach Programme.
Speaking of the success of the event, Interim Addictions Manager, Sonya Johnston said, “The Ards Community Addictions Team alongside the service user recovery groups would have often hosted coffee mornings before the COVID Pandemic, and this has been their first since restrictions have been eased.
“The team were delighted with the response to the coffee morning and our service users enjoyed being able to connect with each other and other community services.”
Hats off to the chefs!
