
Lagan Valley Hospital Occupational Therapist, Tina Watson is celebrating receiving her well-deserved Long Service Award from the South Eastern HSC Trust, after dedicating 40 years of her life to helping others.
With a career spanning Acute, Paediatrics, Community Brain Injury and for the last fifteen years the Condition Management Programme (CMP), Tina, brings her remarkable expertise and enthusiasm to her role which is valued by everyone.
During the pandemic Tina volunteered to work within the Care Homes, provided staff training and assisted in the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act. In 2021, Tina was a core member of the team who established the Post Covid-19 Syndrome Service in the Trust demonstrating her continuous passion and dedication to caring for our community.
CMP and PCSS Manager, Jane Mitchell said, “Tina embraces change and strives to improve our service provision.
“Her dedication to the Condition Management Programme and Post Covid-19 Syndrome Service helps improve our clients’ quality of life. It is admired and recognised by all the staff and appreciated by her clients”
A service user said, “Tina is an excellent practitioner who has helped me through a tough time after having Covid-19.
“She was understanding and sympathetic towards how I was feeling. She made me feel at ease and helped me greatly.”
Reflecting on her many years’ service, Tina added, “All I can say is I love my Job and it has been a privilege to be able to work with all the individuals I have met, both patients, clients and colleagues over the years.
“I look forward to my ongoing contribution within the Trust.”
