Staff from Bangor’s Pure Gym visited the Paediatric Unit at the Ulster Hospital on Good Friday with an impressive haul of Easter eggs, arts and crafts and personal care items for children and young people who will be spending Easter on the ward.

Staff from the gym took a break from lifting weights, to lifting spirits, as staff and its members collected and donated dozens of eggs and crafts to bring a little seasonal cheer to the Unit.

Pure Gym Manager, Rhys Thompson commented, “We thought donating to the Ulster Hospital would be a great way of reaching into the community.  We had an Easter egg appeal with our members which was a great success! We have been able to bring Easter eggs, clothes, arts and crafts, books and toiletries. We want to thank everyone who has helped with the appeal including Bangor Foodbank who donated the crates to help us transport everything here to the hospital today.”

Pure Gym Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer, Sarah Williamson added, “We really felt that this was a nice thing to do and with the donations, it goes some way to putting a smile on the children and young people’s faces who will be spending the Easter break in hospital.”

South Eastern Trust Healthcare Play Specialist, Gillian Sinclair said, “We are delighted that Pure Gym have brought us a great selection of Easter eggs and gifts, as well as crafts and toiletries for the children in the Unit.  We really appreciate this wonderful donation and for thinking of the children who will be with us over the Easter weekend.”
