On Sunday 22 August 2021 the COVID-19 Vaccination Centre in the SSE Arena Belfast will close its doors at 8pm for the final time. It will be an historic moment.
To date 500,000 people have been vaccinated across the South Eastern Trust area. Since the doors opened on 29 March 2021 approximately 360,000 vaccines have been given in the SSE Arena Belfast. This is a remarkable achievement which has been made possible by the work of the incredible staff in the centre and those members of the public who came forward for vaccination.
As part of the Big Jab Weekend, we are offering a last chance to receive your first dose in the SSE Arena Belfast on Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 August from 8.00am – 6.00 pm. Second dose vaccination walk-ins and any booked appointments will still be operating on these days.
Vaccinations available this weekend:
First dose: Pfizer
Second dose: Astra Zeneca & Pfizer
From Tuesday 24 August 2021 at 8.00 am the Vaccination Centre will then move outside the SSE Arena Belfast to the overflow car park, at the Water’s Edge to continue delivering second dose vaccinations and first doses for 16 and 17 year olds. The centre will be open for those that have booked appointments until 8.00pm each day with walk-in appointments available up until 4.30 pm daily.
Rolling out the vaccination programme has been a huge team effort and the South Eastern HSC Trust has worked closely with staff in the SSE Arena Belfast to deliver the biggest mass vaccination programme in Northern Ireland. We are very grateful for their help and support during this time.
The Trust would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers who have supported the Vaccination Programme and indeed everyone who has played such a vital part in Northern Ireland’s COVID-19 recovery.
