The Forget Me Not Focus Group held its annual Service of Remembrance to honour the lives of babies and children who have passed away, bringing together bereaved families and loved ones to remember their precious little ones.
The service, held at the Stormont Hotel, provided a special opportunity for reflection, comfort and support.
South Eastern Trust Bereavement Midwife, Jacqueline Dorrian said it was an, “Honour and a privilege for staff to be present and provide empathetic support.”
“Our annual Service of Remembrance takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week and is a way to remember the babies and children who have died too soon. Our bereaved parents and their families came together to remember their little ones, acknowledge their grief and feel less alone.”
Deputy Mayor of Lisburn, Alderman Aaron McIntyre also lent his support to the event and added, “Baby loss can be an incredibly lonely experience and the compassion, understanding and support offered to bereaved families can make such a difference.
“I am looking forward to welcoming the Forget Me Not Focus Group to the Mayor’s Parlour later this year to discuss how we can work together to support bereaved parents in our community.”
