For those who are on their own peri/menopause journey a week-long series of discussion, activities and guidance on how to focus on mood, emotional health, diet and fitness will take place as part of the South Eastern Trust’s ‘Menofest’.
Held from October 14-18 the events are open to patients and staff from the Down, Ards and North Down areas and will coincide with World Menopause Day on Friday October 18.
A series of events will be held at Newtownards’ Londonderry Park focusing on diet with South Eastern Trust Dietitian Fiona Armstrong on Monday October 14, a Breast Screening Awareness Workshop and health checks will also take place at Teconnaught GAC, Downpatrick at 7pm.
On Tuesday October 15, Londonderry Park will host Gabriel Carlin for a Chi-me workshop and Breast and Bowel Screening Workshop.
For those keen to know more on sleep patterns and the menopause, Sleep Medical NI’s Niall Totten will host a seminar at Ballynahinch Baptist Church on Wednesday October 16.
For those brave enough to take a dip in open waters, Kilclief is the place to be for a moonlight cold water swim with a much needed hot drink on Thursday October 17. Pre-booking is essential and those who are interested are asked to telephone 02890 4481 2727.
