Lace Up And Step Out For Walk To Work Day

9th April 2026

South Eastern Trust staff are being encouraged to lace up their shoes and where possible, leave the car behind in celebration of Walk to Work Day. It’s a great opportunity to start the day by building up steps and kilometres in a healthy and positive way.

The Staff Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Will Moore explained, “A walk before work can really set you up for the day. It offers a wide range of health benefits, supporting overall wellbeing and improving heart health. Walking also helps to strengthen muscles and bones, supports weight management and can even improve sleep.

“It also provides a valuable bit of ‘me time’ before starting the working day, or a chance to unwind and decompress on the walk back to your car afterwards.”

Will added, “With the brighter evenings on our side at the moment, it is a great time to take advantage of the option to walk, enjoying some fresh air while getting those steps in.”
