Local Foster Carers Celebrated at Fang-Tastic Halloween Event

31st October 2024
Children, Staff and Foster Carers Enjoying the Pumpkin Carving

Foster Carers, children and staff from the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust came together over the weekend to celebrate the vital contributions of local Foster Carers at a special Halloween-themed appreciation event. Held at the Burrendale Hotel in Newcastle, there was a festive atmosphere, celebrating both the spirit of Halloween and the commitment of Foster Carers in the community.

The event included a pumpkin patch in a Halloween garden, where children participated in a creative pumpkin carving activity, transforming pumpkins into spooky masterpieces. Laughter filled the garden as children and families came together over their shared creations, adding a festive touch to the day.

The children dressed up in a delightful array of costumes, from ghouls and goblins to superheroes and fairy-tale characters, adding colour and fun to the celebration. Halloween-themed colouring activities allowed the children to showcase their artistic talents!

Foster Carers who attended the event commented, “It was a fantastic day, everyone had so much fun!  Thank you so much for organising it.“

“It was so lovely to meet up with other Foster Carers, some we knew and some new faces.”

“A great event for everyone, Foster Carers, our children and the children we care for.“

South Eastern Trust, Head of Service Fostering & Adoption, Nuala Hanna, shared her appreciation, saying, “We are immensely grateful to our Foster Carers, who provide invaluable support and a loving environment for the children in our care. This event is a small way for us to express our gratitude and celebrate the important role they play.”

“I would like to thank all the Foster Carers, children and staff who attended the event and contributed to making it a memorable day!”
