Blackwood Mahee Golf Club has very generously donated £1300 to the Cancer Services Department based in the Macmillan Cancer Unit at the Ulster Hospital. This is the second year Blackwood Mahee Golf Club has nominated Macmillan as their chosen charity.
The money was raised through Captains’ Day which was held in July this year.
Presenting the cheque, Club Captain, Sandy Stothers said, “The generous donation from the members of Blackwood Mahee Golf Club will help the Macmillan Unit continue to provide essential services and support to cancer patients in the local community. The club’s ongoing commitment in supporting the unit demonstrates their dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by cancer.
“The donation is a testament to the power of community and solidarity in making a difference to the lives of those facing cancer.”
Delighted with the donation, Assistant Director Medical Specialties & Cancer Services, Mary Jo Thompson, added, “We are really thrilled to receive this generous amount raised by Blackwood Mahee Golf Club. This money will be put to good use supporting patients and staff through their cancer journey.”
