A Pregnancy, Baby & Toddler Fair recently took place at the Stormont Hotel in Belfast with a number of different stalls, workshops, guest speakers and interactive experiences on offer that allowed expectant and new mothers to engage and share experiences. The Neonatal Infant Feeding Leads in Northern Ireland provided vital breastfeeding support to both expectant and new mothers from across Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland.
Neonatal Breastfeeding Lead, Cathy Flinn said, “This event provided an opportunity to promote and support breastfeeding for mothers and babies and showcased a range of key services and products currently available to help allow them to make a more informed choice if they decide to go on a breastfeeding journey.”
The main goal of the day was to improve information and support to mothers and babies being cared for in Neonatal Units across Northern Ireland. Each Trust has a Neonatal Infant Feeding Lead, who is dedicated to providing feeding information and support to babies requiring neonatal care and their families as well as implementing the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards within each unit.
