New mums and dads at the Ulster Hospital Maternity Unit can enjoy an extra bit of home comfort with their newborns with the delivery of several new recliner chairs.
The chairs will be installed in the ward and induction bay enabling mum and dad to have some relaxation during their stay.
Celebrating the arrival of their beautiful baby boy, the Duddy family were enjoying time with baby in the new chairs. “They are super comfortable,” said mum Leah. “I feel well supported and it’s good to have the chair beside the bed.”
Proud dad Jonny added, “With the chair it’s great to have that additional bit of comfort and even I was able to enjoy it!”
Interim Lead Midwife Emma Johnson said, “We are launching our new reclining chairs in our Maternity Ward and Induction bay. These are available for all women at each bed space, to provide additional comfort for women and their partners. Helen Minford, an outgoing Non-Executive Board Director, supported the drive for this new initiative, and we are incredibly grateful for her support to improve services for the women in our care.”
