Newcroft Lodge Residents Delight in Pancake Making Event

“Pancake Tuesday was something that my mum and I would have done together when I was younger, it brought back great memories.” The thoughts of one of the residents of Newcroft Lodge in Holywood, as staff arranged a pancake-making event to mark Pancake Day.

As joy, laughter and conversation filled the air, along with the scent of freshly baked pancakes, staff and residents gathered in the communal area, eagerly awaiting their turn to create the perfect customised pancake, unleashing their creativity with an array of delicious toppings. From classic maple syrup to a resident favourite, chocolate spread, there was something to satisfy every palate.

Delighted to take part in the activities, a resident from Newcroft Lodge said, “It was special to me that we got to make pancakes today.”

Newcroft Lodge Manager, Demi Cox thanked staff for organising the event and said, “Our staff are very proactive and go out of their way to get all of our residents involved in activities.

“It is a real team effort to be able to host an activity like this and with the assistance from staff, whether that’s helping residents mix ingredients or encouraging them to taste their creations, they are all making a difference.”

The activity not only brought the residents together, but also created a vibrant atmosphere as they engaged with each other by swapping stories and memories, fostering a sense of connection and community spirit within Newcroft Lodge.
