The Radiology Imaging Service in the South Eastern Trust has been awarded the prestigious Quality Mark by the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and the College of Radiographers (CoR), with the service exceeding standards in multiple key areas.

This endorsement highlights the Trust’s commitment to delivering a high quality, safe and person-centred imaging service for all patients.

The RCR Quality Mark is a newly established quality assessment scheme, developed by the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and the College of Radiographers (CoR). Launched in July 2024, the scheme provides a flexible framework for imaging services to obtain independent assurance regarding dedication to delivering timely, high quality and safe person-centred care. Services are assessed against the nationally recognised Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) benchmark.

The Radiology Imaging Service within the Trust surpassed the required standards in several areas, demonstrating an outstanding level of excellence. These areas include respect and general support for patients and carers, patient, carer and service partnerships, service competencies and training plan, supporting staff in training and staff wellbeing, operational policy and radiology events and learning meetings.

Congratulating the team on this remarkable achievement, South Eastern Trust Director of Surgery, Elective, Maternity & Paediatrics, Maggie Parks, said, “This accreditation is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our staff within our Radiology Services. Exceeding the standards in multiple key areas reflects our team’s commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality. I am incredibly proud of their efforts.”

South Eastern Trust Interim Radiology Services Manager, Jayne Hutchinson, added, “Achieving the RCR Quality Mark is an incredible accomplishment for our team. This recognition reinforces our dedication to continuous improvement, patient-centred care and staff development. We will continue to build on this success and further enhance our imaging services for the benefit of our patients and the wider community.”
