The sun shone on Downpatrick’s Struell Lodge this week as staff and residents came together to celebrate Cultural Day.

Struell Lodge’s Senior Manager Diana Patel McIntyre explained how everyone was treated to, “Fun, food and chat with our wonderfully diverse team. The day gave everyone an opportunity to hear their stories.

“We were delighted to welcome the Trust’s Chairman Jonathan Patton, to help celebrate our global cultures and enjoy and sample great food and music. It was a great chance for everyone to get to know the people who care for our residents everyday.

“We have eight different nationalities working here at Struell Lodge and we hope this is something we can celebrate annually,” said Diana.

Chairman Jonathan Patton thoroughly enjoyed the day. “There is such a fabulous atmosphere here at Struell Lodge for International Culture Day. We are celebrating the staff from so many different places around the world and our own residents here at Struell Lodge and their heritage.

“Where else would you rather be than standing in Downpatrick, in the sunshine, in the gardens of Struell Lodge. This is just fabulous!”
