Alanna Drennan very kindly donated quite a number of toys to the Children’s Unit at the Ulster Hospital recently, in memory of her first husband Scott who tragically passed away in 2006 on their honeymoon, after suffering a fatal asthma attack. Scott was diagnosed with asthma from birth and was a regular patient of the Maynard Sinclair ward over the years.
With this in mind Alanna set about putting together a team to run the Belfast City Marathon Relay Race, to raise enough funds to buy a variety of toys to suit children from all age groups. Alanna said, “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of all those who donated. We are delighted to be able to gift the children’s ward with toys and equipment which will hopefully bring much joy to them.”
The management and staff of the Children’s Unit would like to thank Alanna and her fundraising team for their efforts and very generous toy donation. These toys will be distributed to our patients over the Christmas period and we are sure each patient will be delighted with their gift.
