“The Cystic Fibrosis Charity means so much to me as I have been directly impacted through family illness.”
The words of a young person in Lakewood Secure Care Centre who brought joy to everyone’s day by hosting a bake sale to raise awareness for a charity close to her heart, Cystic Fibrosis.
Putting her baking skills into action the young person made fifteens, top hats, carrot cake, fudgy brownies, red velvet cupcakes and plenty of other delicious treats!
An amazing total of £141.80 was raised through the sale of the baked goods, with only a few crumbs left to clear away when packing up!
Assistant Director, Marie-Louise Sloan, highlighted, “I am extremely proud of this young person’s commitment and dedication to raising much needed funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Charity.
“It is a privilege to support our young people to achieve their goals and this was an area very important to her. She was able to bring her very talented skills to the fore.
“The bun sale was successful and enjoyed by other young people and colleagues across the centre.”
