A spectacular ‘automotive’ car run is set to delight classic and sports car fans as a cavalcade of over 400 vehicles is set to leave Carrickfergus Castle for Portrush this month in a fundraising ‘drive’ for the Ulster Hospital’s Forget Me Not Focus Group.
The Forget Me Not Group in the Ulster Hospital Maternity Unit brings together parents who have experienced the death of a child or baby and provides support connection to families throughout the year.
Carrick Cars and Coffee’s Connor Marshall, explained how he, along with other drivers will be taking part in a car run to raise funds and support the Forget Me Not group on Sunday 27 July 2025. Connor said, “The Forget Me Not Group provided such crucial support, compassion and empathy to my partner, Hannah’s Sister, Kirsten Moore, whose baby boy Noah sadly died on July 8 2023.
“Over the years, we have fundraised for many charities including the Air Ambulance, Age NI and Macmillan Cancer. Kirsten really felt supported and that the Bereavement Midwives were behind her when Noah was born. Nothing about her experience felt rushed or clinical and the team still reach out to her today.
“We will be gathering at 11am on Sunday 27 July 2025 and it will be a great day out. There will be something for all car enthusiasts or even if you are not into cars, we will have food and coffee trucks and it will be a chance to support such a worthwhile charity.”
South Eastern Trust, Bereavement Midwife, Jacqueline Dorrian added, “We want to thank Connor for choosing the Forget Me Not Focus Group as Carrick Cars chosen charity this year. I have watched this particular event and it is really something to see all the cars driving out of Carrick. We really appreciate Connor and his team supporting the Forget Me Not Group and wish them all well ahead of the charity car run.”
