Advice on the use of Face Masks and Face Coverings in all health and social care settings has been issued by the Department of Health.
This guidance is applicable to healthcare workers as well as visitors and patients entering Trust facilities. Please take the opportunity to read this advice click here so that we continue to implement good practice and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
In July the Trust commenced the process of sourcing face coverings for all of our staff and we have managed to purchase masks which should arrive at the end of August or beginning of September, 2020. All our staff will be issued with two face coverings each.
We would recommend that, as well as complying with the advice on face coverings, our staff continue to apply the following principles;
- Continue to social distance always apply the 2 metre rule. When this cannot be applied wear a face mask or face covering. Whatever is chosen will be dependent on the role and the working environment of the member of staff.
- Wash hands often
- Stay off work if you develop COVID-19 symptoms
- Exercise respiratory etiquette. Catch coughs and sneezes into a tissue “catch it, bin it, kill it,” or cover your mouth when covering and sneezing with your arm.
